Monday Memorabilia/Collections: Elvis and Nixon
Well, aside from rock memorabilia, I have a small collection of American right wing political memorabilia, mostly from the 70s and 80s when such things were still fun and didn’t take themselves too seriously.
This ties those two together rather nicely:
So, Elvis shaking hands with Nixon. I actually have 3 or 4 Nixon pieces in my collection, but this is the most fun, and the most likely to confuse people, so it’s framed nicely and lives in my dining room.
I might get more into posting my other Nixon stuff after Christmas… and I have more Elvis pieces as well.
Actually, now that I think of it, perhaps I should acquire more photos of rock stars making nice with establishment figures like US presidents, because it would be kinda hilarious, and because I know for a fact I can get some pics of Bono shaking hands with Dubya which would also confuse and offend prigs.
