Pyraworld Productions (“Pyraworld”, “we”, “us”) is an art, book, and content creation company run by Vampyra Draculea and based in North Cowichan, British Columbia, Canada. This policy page states what personal information is collected through this website (www.pyradraculea.com), why it’s collected, and what choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

In short: the information we collect is standard website analytics data and what you send us through our email list sign-up form. We never sell personal information, and we don’t send marketing emails without consent.

Information you give us

When you use our email list sign-up form or email us at info@pyradraculea.com, you provide whatever detail we receive — usually your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message. Email list sign-up form submissions are delivered to us through our mail service.

Information collected automatically

We use website analytics to better understand how people use our site. We currently use the following tools:

Matomo Analytics: privacy-focused traffic analytics that gives aggregate user information such as page views, links clicked, and what country users came from.

Matomo Opt-Out option:

Analytics data helps us see what pages users find most interesting/useful and what pages need more work. We don’t identify you personally and we don’t combine it with email list sign-up form submissions.

Tracking cookies for Matomo Analytics have been disabled on this website.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the site will keep working. If you’d like us to remove analytics data associated with your visits, contact us and we’ll do what we reasonably can to locate and delete it.

How we use personal information

To send marketing or newsletter emails only when you’ve opted in by signing up for the email list, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). A working unsubscribe link will be present at the bottom of every email from the mailing list.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell personal information. Information is only shared with the service providers needed to make the website run — our hosting provider, our email delivery service, and the analytics tools named above. Even so, this is only as needed for them to work. Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States or the United Kingdom), and is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep contact correspondence for as long as needed to serve you and to meet any legal obligations. Analytics data is retained under the default retention settings of the tools above and reviewed periodically. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we’re legally required to keep it.

How we protect it

This site is served over HTTPS, there is only one administrator (the business owner/author) with access to the system, access to is protected with strong authentication, and we keep the software we run up to date. While no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the information we keep.

Your rights

Canada’s PIPEDA law states you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or withdraw consent to uses that rely on it (such as marketing email). Email info@pyradraculea and we’ll respond within a reasonable time (usually 2 business days). If we don’t respond to your satisfaction, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to practice or policy

If we change how we run things on this site—say, if we change our analytics tools—this page will be updated and we’ll put the most recent revision date at the top.
